Description

Authentic cow horn handcrafted into a two-for-one drinking vessel and musical instrument – though we recommend only using it for one purpose at a time! Drinks like a stein, blows like a trumpet.

Though now often associated with Vikings, both drinking and blowing horns have been in use since the earliest known civilizations for ritual and ceremonial practices. Our horns are designed with a semi-modern twist to accomplish a combination style that will not dribble your drink, yet still produces a solid note with relative (practiced) ease.

PLEASE NOTE! These are made of natural cow horns, meaning size and color may vary! Sizes are approximate! Actual horn will not be exactly as pictured!

You can add a note during checkout for horn color (lighter with a white dominant color mix or darker with a black dominant color mix) requests and we will do our best with what we have available. Please note we may not have a horn that suits your exact request, in which case we will send you the best fit. To pick out your own horn, find us at a fair near you.

Features

  • Sealed on the inside with an FDA compliant food safe epoxy, allowing the horn to hold everything from ice cold tea and perfectly chilled beer to coffee and mulled wine/mead.
  • Specialized trumpet-like aluminum mouthpiece for easier blowing (will still take some practice).
  • Standard Tip option: Matching aluminum fitted tip with rubber gasket to prevent leaks.
  • Natural Tip option: The horn’s natural tip re-fitted with an adjustable screw that is designed to work with the mouthpiece to prevent leaks.

Care

  • Hand wash only with warm water and soap – do not put horn in dishwasher.
  • Not intended for boiling-hot liquids (warm-hot is fine).
  • Do not overtighten the tip onto the mouthpiece – especially important for Natural Tip horns – finger tight is all that is needed to seal.
  • Buff the outside with citrus oil yearly and store in a dry place out of direct sunlight to keep the horn looking good.
  • Keep away from dogs and other animals, they may use the horn as an expensive chew toy.
